Short description: Park road in the centre of Helsinki, linking the harbor and market square at one end to the main city road (Mannerheimintie) at the other.
Long description: The Esplanadi park is one of the most beautiful park and road areas in Helsinki and offers excellent shooting locations from virtually any angle. The park area is situated between two roads (North and South Esplanadi) and is flanked by some of the most Helsinki's most prestigious buildings and architecture. At one end of the park is the popular Teatteri nightclub and restaurant and at the other is the Market Square (Kauppatori) marked with the famous statue of the Havis Amanda (a nude female statue sculpted by Ville Vallgren in 1906). Within the park are numerous quaint kiosks, park benches and statues. An outdoor stage is located opposite the Kappeli restaurant and the entire strip is a favorite for picnics and events during summer. Many of the restaurants and hotels situated in or near the Esplanadi park have been used in film and TV productions and are likely to be familiar with production procedures and arrangements.
